As well as his success in the Small tour Watson also rode to 10th place in the PSG despite only having 30 mins to get to know his horse. "To get on and ride a strange horse under that sort of pressure isn't the easiest thing to do but I got on really well with both horses. This experience has really given me a taste of international competition and I really want to get out there and do more on my own horses."
Watson, A BD list 4 judge and trainer, returns home to focus his attention on advanced rides Daniolo and Furieux 2 both of which he is campaigning for the National Dressage Championships 2009. He also hopes to compete at Hartpury CDI in July.
