BHS Cross-Country Championship reaches climax this weekend

The final of the BHS Cross-Country Championships, generously sponsored for the seventh year by South Essex Insurance Brokers, takes place on 28 September at Eland Lodge Equestrian Centre, Derbyshire.

Once again hundreds of BHS members will travel from all over the country, each rider eager to secure one of the prestigious titles on offer. The three Championship classes, Novice, Pairs (both over 2' 9" course) and Open (3' 3") are the climax to a year of qualifying events.

Several of last year's winners have again qualified, meaning competition will be intense as they attempt to retain their titles. Additional trophies are kindly provided by most of the BHS regions for the best riders from their area.

Helen Owens, Senior Executive, BHS Competitions said: "We are delighted that SEIB are once again sponsoring the BHS Cross-Country Championships and thank them for their continued support. We look forward to welcoming all competitors to Eland Lodge, especially newcomers to the Championship, and wish them the very best of luck".

Spectator entry at the Finals is free, and the venue can be found just off the A515 between Lichfield and Derby, with easy access from all directions. The natural amphitheatre and attractive layout at Eland Lodge provide superb spectator viewing - so come along and support the BHS members battling it out to be National Champions!
