 | In a demonstration that has never been seen before, David Deptford and Richard Curtis will be combining their considerable skills and talents to provide a spellbinding display of the many similar techniques that are used to train horses and dogs.
David is one of the leading breeders and trainers of American Quarter Horses in the UK, and a highly successful international competitor. He explains:" The techniques used for western riding are not only applicable across all the equestrian disciplines but many of the methods used are very familiar to dog trainers. Our display will capture the imagination of the audience as they see how training techniques can readily cross the boundaries between species with remarkable effect."
The Holistic horse Show has been given the seal of approval by two new sponsors. The BALANCE Organisation, who advocate a common sense and biomechanically correct approach to riding, have confirmed their position as associate sponsors of the event, while natural feeding experts Simple System Ltd will be sponsoring the Show's innovative therapy centre.
Jane Van Lennep of Simple System Ltd said: "We are thrilled to be able to support the Holistic Horse Show. The huge amount of interest the show is already generating marks an important step change in the philosophy of UK horse owners toward their animals, which encapsulates our belief in the vital importance of holistic care and management of the equine." |
The full programme of performances in the main arena also includes International Dressage rider Lucinda McAlpine, who will be demonstrating how to harness natural behaviour using an intuitive riding technique. She will provide a breath-taking dressage to music display and will also give a loose jumping demonstration to highlight the importance of "play" in teaching horses to jump. The equine biomechanist Gillian Higgins from Horses Inside Out, will take visitors on an exciting Anatomical Journey showing how the equine body works, with the help of her obliging grey horse Freddie.
In the more intimate therapy centre, which has a capacity for 30 people at a time, visitors can witness a vast range of complementary therapies at close hand, and see the most up to the minute holistic care products demonstrated. Simple System Ltd will be providing insightful "Bucket to barrow" talks in the therapy centre and the BALANCE Organisation will be explaining how the right saddle can really improve your relationship with your horse. In the shopping mall and the café and bistro area visitors will be able to purchase the very latest in holistic horse care products and also grab some lunch.
