ILPH launches free Welfare Hotline
The International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH) has changed its Welfare Hotline to a new free-phone number to make it even easier for people to report cases of horse cruelty and neglect.
Tony Tyler, ILPH Deputy Chief Executive comments: "It is a sad fact that horses and ponies in this country are still being neglected and mistreated, through both ignorance and deliberate cruelty.
Last year the ILPH received 30,000 calls from members of the public seeking advice and reporting welfare concerns. This led to 1,511 cases being investigated by our network of 16 full time Field Officers.
"We are delighted to be able to introduce a free-phone Welfare Hotline to show our continuing commitment to horse welfare."
The new number - 08000 480180 - will become live from Monday 12th November and will be manned between the hours of 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
Please note that calls to this number cannot be transferred elsewhere within the ILPH.
