Ofqual recognition for Equestrian Qualifications
Ofqual recognition for Equestrian Qualifications Equestrian Qualifications GB Limited (EQL) - the Awarding Body for The British Horse Society - has been recognised by Ofqual (The Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) to operate in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). EQL is already an Awarding Organisation with accredited qualifications in the National Qualifications Framework. All Awarding Organisations are required to go through a supplementary recognition process in order to operate in the QCF, which will replace the National Qualifications Framework at the end of this year.
"The recognition we have received from Ofqual demonstrates that our systems, procedures, assessment and quality assurance processes are rigorous and robust", explained Linda Haworth, Senior Executive, Examinations. | |
Only about one third of all Awarding Organisations have so far gained Ofqual approval to operate in the QCF. Linda says: "We are now working in conjunction with The British Horse Society to make sure the qualifications we award are ‘fit' for the QCF, whilst remaining the vocational qualifications of choice for the industry".
Graham Cory, Director of EQL, pointed out that Ofqual's recognition of EQL's ability to operate in the QCF is a "quality seal of approval" on the Awarding Organisation's processes and procedures.
