New JRN Co ordinators
| New JRN Co-ordinators British Eventing is pleased to announce that the KBIS Junior Regional Novice series has two new Regional Co-ordinators and a new Chairman. Jane Peters who hails from Northumberland will be taking over as Chairman. She became involved with the JRN programme through Chris McGrann in 2003 and took over as JRN North Co-ordinator in 2004. In her time as Co-ordinator, the amount of registered Northern JRN's went from 24 to almost 100 in 2009. Jane said of her new role: "I thoroughly enjoy my involvement with the JRN programme. It is wonderful to be able |
to open up a whole new Eventing world to families, who without the support of the JRN Co-ordinators and programme would have perhaps struggled to able to compete successfully at that level. Being able to nurture, encourage and educate young talented riders is my incentive, and the satisfaction of watching them develop is my reward!"
In light of Jane's new role, Lyn Cottingham will take over the JRN North Co-ordinator role. East Yorkshire-based Lyn has two daughters who are keen Event riders and also came through the JRN programme. Lyn said of her new role: "I hope that I can help to maintain a system that really works; it was great for my two daughters and it would be great to see other up and coming riders continue to benefit from the system."
The new JRN Midlands Co-ordinator for the next year is Tina Ure who is the organiser of Little Downham Horse Trials which hosts two annual events and she also runs Ely Eventing Centre. Tina has been the assistant to Val Gingall who is JRN East Co-ordinator for the last few years and is looking forward to the change in area:"Although the Midlands is not my region, I am really looking forward to working with such a successful region for Event-riders."
