BHS Approvals on the up
BHS centres are subject to more rigorous testing and riders and horseowners are becoming more aware that for an establishment to be BHS approved, the centre really has to be first class.
There are numerous advantages to being a BHS approved centre. There are insurance discounts, Buddy Scheme, discounts with retailers and most of all Membership of a professional body to help demonstrate credibility when needed. The centre is also listed on the BHS website and the BHS Yearbook, there is free BHS membership for one proprietor, and free help lines covering all aspects of business and equestrianism. The BHS also runs regional conferences for approved schools and yards and offers impartial advice to all members.
The British Horse Society has recently also achieved record membership levels, which represents a positive feeling for the future of the largest equine charity in the UK.
