Congratulations to first entrants of the new Equestrian Tourism Exam

Congratulations to first entrants of the new Equestrian Tourism Exam

An extremely successful pilot exam was held on 11 August at a BHS Approved Centre in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District where candidates with BHS qualifications, completed the new top up qualification and have achieved their Assistant Ride Leader Certificate.

This exam is available to anyone with the BHS Stage 2 or above who wishes to expand their knowledge and experience by utilising sections of the Equestrian Tourism Assistant Ride Leader syllabus.

More examinations will be organised across the country depending on demand and anyone wishing to take this exam before the end of 2009 can take advantage of a 10 percent discount on the normal fee of £75.00.  For more information contact C.Doran@bhs.org.uk or telephone 01926 707794.

Chris Doran, Equestrian Tourism Co-ordinator said, "We are delighted that this pilot exam ran so smoothly and all candidates were successful.  This new examination will be hugely beneficial for all who take rides out."

These qualifications have been especially developed to provide industry relevant, recognised standards at three levels for those working in equestrian tourism - Assistant Ride Leader, Ride Leader and Riding Holiday Centre Manager.

Everyone, from those who escort hacks, treks, trail rides or work within the equestrian tourism industry to anybody taking a riding holiday, should consider taking these qualifications.

A very big thank you must be given to Liz Andrews and the staff at Northfield Farm Riding & Trekking Centre for the accommodation and smooth running of the examination.
