Meet Shetland ponies at Wiltshire garden centre
"The Phoenix ponies have been specially chosen for their excellent temperament, patience and sociability. People will be able to meet the ponies and learn more about them, while finding out more about the good work of the charity."
Visitors to the garden centre will have the chance to get up close and pet the ponies and will be able to have their photographs taken with them.
The Leicester-based charity has helped children across the UK by donating much needed equipment and toys to various hospitals, care facilities and individual children as well as raising money for other charities.
The organisation has recently introduced a Sponsor a Pony scheme, where for a minimum of £5 a month people are able to sponsor one of the ponies. Sponsors will receive a yearly newsletter, Birthday and Christmas cards and a photograph of their chosen pony.
Representatives from The Phoenix Children's Foundation will be at the garden centre with the Shetland ponies and collection buckets from 10.30am until 4pm.
All the money raised on the day will be donated to Riding for the Disabled, an organisation that aims to provide exercise, fun and stimulation through horse riding to children with special needs.
Mark added: "I hope lots of families will visit the garden centre to say ‘hello' to the Shetland ponies and find out more about these wonderful creatures and their role in the charity."
