Insurance Brokers Support Young Horse Box Drivers
| Insurance Brokers Support Young Horse Box Drivers South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) have recognised the plight of young drivers wishing to transport their own horses and are offering special discounts on 3.5 tonne horsebox insurance.
Small lorries are becoming increasingly popular, particularly with young drivers who are allowed to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes loaded weight on a category B car licence. Anyone who passed their driving test since 1 January 1997 is required to take an additional test to drive a car and trailer suitable for transporting horses, and to drive a heavier lorry requires a further test. A small lorry has the added advantage of being more economical and convenient to drive, especially if you have just one or two horses to transport.
SEIB recognised that the increase in demand for small horseboxes has had an impact on price, and have responded with special discounts on basic rates for drivers 21 years old and over or 25 years old and over, depending on the value of the horsebox and in addition to any other discounts that the policy holder may be entitled do.
