Profile:
Milo (with the star) & Woody came from the Tavistock pony sales in December having been unsold. They were both extremely nervous when they came to us and we are building up their confidence daily. They are now very interested in us humans and approach us for a nervous sniff which is a good sign, now they are approaching us it won't be long before they learn to trust us and we can start work on handling them. Milo is braver than Woody and is starting to enjoy attention from us. They will be handled before going to a new home unless the home is very experienced with young unhandled ponies. They are both quite small foals Milo in particular won’t be very big when older though Woody might reach 11hhish (always hard to guess)!
If you are interested in these two then do get in touch. We hope to home these two together as they are best of friends having been at the market together and then joining our herd together, they have hardly left each other's sides!!
We are the be Dartmoor Pony Training Centre we take on ponies from market that are unsold and re-home them in to permanent loan homes as well as promote the breed. Dartmoor Hill ponies are wonderful sweet natured ponies and make excellent riding and driving ponies as well as companions and even therapy ponies which they are well suited to due to their calm nature. We insist our ponies go to homes where they have company and ideally we want them to be able to live out. We ask for a small donation if you take on a pony to help towards the running costs of the centre.
Please do look at our website for details of our centre and links to blogs about how we are getting on and all the ponies we currently have available for loan.
We also run a sales list which you can access via our website. We have put together the sales list to promote private sales of Dartmoor Ponies.
