| CHIVE HAS NOW BEEN RE HOMED
At present he is turned out during the day in a small paddock with other geldings for company (he gets on well with others) and is stabled at night.
He could live out, but either way his weight needs to be watched as his waistline can expand very quickly! We are only feeding him hay and a supplement at the moment, but he may need a small hard feed at certain times of the year if he is doing a little more work. He is good for the farrier and at present is unshood.
Advice will need to be sought if he is working more on harder ground as shoes might be necessary: either way he will need the attention of a qualified, registered farrier every 6-8 weeks. He does some work in the school, including pole work, and has hacked out around the farm and also on the roads with older experienced horses for company.
He is a very sweet pony and always tries to do his best but still has a lot to learn. The ideal home for Chive would be one where he can continue his training.
His rider needs to have experienced help and the confidence to be brave for him if he is unsure about anything. Regular lessons and/or Pony Club would probably be ideal for him - and we are sure he would be much-admired.
