Management hearing for the Gray trial on Friday 18th July 2008
I am not sure what he means but I think we need to make sure the trial is well attended to show we care. They are expecting a lot of interest but I am not sure people see the point now the equines are rescued.
As you are well aware, this is potentially very important, I hope the horse loving public will understand that.
The maximum sentence is 51 weeks-which is no deterrent, so I hope it will lead to sentences becoming more realistic.
I have also been to Spindles Farm and I saw thirty or so horses, including foals, so the farm is in full swing.
The RSPCA were asked to review whether a 15 year old should be taken to court. The review was undertaken and O'Donnell explained why he was being arraigned.
He told the court that one witness saw Gray Jnr kick a horse while he winched it on to a vehicle by its tail.
The defence for Gray Jnr, Mr Fullerton, then talked about the ‘boy' and how vulnerable he is etc.
The usher pointed out that the hundreds of photographs being shown at the trial will make grim viewing.
